DrifterIQ Payments Terms
These terms cover taking card payments through DrifterIQ. They are an agreement between you (the business that uses DrifterIQ, “you”) and Artemis Technology Solutions LLC, an Arizona limited liability company doing business as DrifterIQ (“DrifterIQ”, “we”). They add to the DrifterIQ Terms & Conditions. If the two disagree about payments, these terms win.
You agree to these terms when you tick the box in the payments setup inside DrifterIQ. The person who ticks it confirms they are allowed to agree for the business.
1. How payments work, in short
- We work with Stripe, a payments company, to process card payments and send payouts to your bank.
- Your customer’s card statement shows the statement name you choose in setup, usually your business name.
- After each payment we send you the payment amount minus the card fees in section 4. Stripe then pays that money out to your bank account on the payout schedule in section 5.
- You do not need a Stripe login. Setup, payments and payouts are handled inside DrifterIQ. A few secure forms inside the app are provided by Stripe.
2. Stripe’s agreement
Card processing for businesses on DrifterIQ is provided by Stripe and is subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service. By agreeing to these terms, or by continuing to take card payments through DrifterIQ, you also agree to Stripe’s agreement, as Stripe may change it from time to time.
As a condition of taking payments through DrifterIQ, you agree to give us accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize us to share it, and information about your payments, with Stripe.
Stripe processes card payments through its partner banks. Their names and contact details are in Stripe’s acquirer disclosure. Stripe handles the details you give it as described in the Stripe Privacy Policy. DrifterIQ handles your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Setting up and staying verified
- The law requires Stripe to know who it pays. During setup you give details such as your legal name, date of birth, home address, the last 4 digits of your Social Security number (or your company’s EIN and owners), and a bank account or debit card for payouts.
- Your Social Security digits and your full bank account or card number are typed into Stripe’s secure form and go straight to Stripe. DrifterIQ never receives them. We keep only the name of your bank or card and its last 4 digits, so we can show you where your payouts go and alert you if that changes.
- Stripe may ask for more later, for example a photo of your ID. We will tell you in the app and by email what is needed and by when. If it is not provided in time, Stripe may pause your payouts or your ability to take cards until it is.
- You agree to keep your details current and to use the payments service only for your own business.
4. Card fees
- For every card payment, the card fee is Stripe’s actual processing cost for that payment, passed on exactly, plus 0.5% of the payment amount, which is DrifterIQ’s share. The card fees are taken out of each payment before it is sent to you.
- At Stripe’s prices on October 23, 2026, that is typically 3.2% + 5¢ for a card taken in person and 3.4% + 30¢ for an online payment, a pay link or a saved card. Some cards cost more, for example cards issued outside the United States. These are examples, not fixed prices: because Stripe’s cost is passed on exactly, your card fees go up or down when Stripe or the card networks change their prices.
- Payouts to your bank are free. What Stripe charges for sending payouts and for keeping your payments account active is paid by DrifterIQ out of its share, not taken from you.
- We will give you at least 30 days’ notice in the app or by email before we change DrifterIQ’s share.
- Your DrifterIQ subscription is billed separately and is not part of these fees.
5. Payouts
- DrifterIQ sets the payout schedule. Today payouts are sent automatically every business day.
- Standard payouts are free and usually reach your bank 2 business days after a payment. Weekends and bank holidays do not count, a weekend payment counts from Monday, and a payment late in the day can count as the next day. So a payment taken on a Thursday usually arrives Monday, on a Friday Tuesday, and on a weekend Wednesday.
- Your first payout takes longer, usually about a week and sometimes up to two, while Stripe completes its checks on a new account.
- Stripe may delay a payout or hold back part of your balance (a reserve) when it sees unusual activity or elevated risk. If that happens, we will tell you what we know and what, if anything, you can do.
- Instant payouts are not available yet. When they are, any fee for them will be shown before you use them.
6. Refunds
- You decide when to refund a customer. The refunded amount goes back to your customer’s card.
- Card fees are not returned when a payment is refunded, in full or in part, because Stripe keeps its processing cost. The refund screen tells you this before you confirm.
- A refund is paid from your balance. If your balance does not cover it, the difference goes on your DrifterIQ balance (section 8).
- We may refuse a refund that would take your DrifterIQ balance past a limit we set. You can settle the balance first or talk to us.
- If we have to refund one of your payments ourselves, for example a duplicate charge or a payment that breaks these terms, it is treated the same way.
7. Disputes (chargebacks)
- A dispute is when a customer asks their bank to reverse a payment. When that happens, the bank takes the disputed amount back right away and Stripe charges a dispute fee, currently $15, which is not returned even if you win.
- You are responsible for the disputed amount and Stripe’s dispute fees. The disputed amount and the dispute fee are taken the moment the dispute opens: from your balance, from the payment itself when it has not been paid out to you yet, and the rest from your next payments (section 8). If you win, the disputed amount is returned to you.
- Fighting a dispute costs a second fee, currently $15, which Stripe charges when your evidence is submitted. It is charged to you the same way and comes back to you if you win.
- We tell you about a dispute by email and in the app, and by text if you have text alerts turned on: what the bank says, what it costs, and the date by which we need your side. You reply by that date with what happened and any proof (the booking, texts with the customer, photos, the policy they agreed to), and we pass it to the bank for you. If your reply comes late, we may not be able to get it to the bank in time. You can also accept the dispute in the app. The customer’s bank makes the final decision, not DrifterIQ or Stripe.
- When a dispute opens, we may pause your payouts until it is resolved and reviewed (section 10), and the payment cannot be refunded while the dispute is open. A dispute the bank decides against you counts as a strike on your account (section 10).
8. If your balance goes negative
Refunds, disputes and fees can add up to more than your balance holds. The shortfall shows in the app as your DrifterIQ balance. It is money you owe DrifterIQ, and you authorize us to recover it in any of these ways:
- by keeping it from your later card payments and payouts,
- by debiting the bank account or debit card you gave for payouts, and
- if neither covers it, by sending you a bill that is due within 30 days.
The app shows your DrifterIQ balance and every amount that went toward it. If a balance is not paid when it is due, you also owe our reasonable costs of collecting it, including attorney’s fees, as far as the law allows.
9. What you may not use payments for
- Payments must be for real services or goods that you provide to real customers.
- You may not run payments on your own card to get cash, split a sale to avoid limits, take payments for someone else’s business, or sell anything on Stripe’s restricted businesses list.
- You follow the laws and card network rules that apply to your business. If you add a card fee for your customers, you are responsible for making sure it is allowed where you work and that your customers see it before they pay.
- You charge a customer’s saved card only the way that customer agreed to, for example under the cancellation policy they accepted when they booked.
- If a payment looks fraudulent or breaks these rules, we or Stripe may refuse it, reverse it, or hold the money while it is reviewed.
10. Pauses, limits and closing
- We may pause your card payments or payouts when Stripe requires it, when verification is overdue, while a dispute is open, when disputes or refunds are unusually high, when we reasonably suspect fraud or a breach of these terms, or when you have a DrifterIQ balance to settle under section 8.
- To manage risk, we may set or change limits on your payments and payouts, and we may hold back part of your balance as a reserve against refunds and disputes we reasonably expect.
- We may close your payments account if these problems are serious or keep happening, if strikes add up, or if Stripe requires it. We will tell you when we pause, limit or close, unless the law or Stripe does not let us.
- You can stop taking card payments at any time. To close your payments account, contact us.
- When payments stop or an account closes, money already owed to you is still paid out, after any refunds, disputes and fees that belong to your payments. Disputes can arrive for months after a payment, and sections 7 and 8 keep applying to payments you took while these terms were in force.
11. Taxes
You are responsible for your own taxes. Where the law requires it, a Form 1099-K is issued for the card payments you received, using the tax details you gave during setup.
12. Our responsibility
We work to keep payments available and accurate, but card networks, banks and Stripe are outside our control. To the extent the law allows:
- DrifterIQ is not liable for delays, holds, reversals or decisions made by Stripe, a bank or a card network.
- DrifterIQ is not liable for lost profits or other indirect losses.
- Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the DrifterIQ fees (our share in section 4) you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
This limit never reduces a payout we owe you for your payments, and nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
13. Changes, law and how we settle disagreements
Changes. We may update these terms. We will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before a change that affects what you pay or what you owe, and we will ask you to agree again when the change is significant. If you keep taking card payments after a change takes effect, that counts as agreeing to it. If you do not agree, you can stop taking card payments.
Notices. We send notices about your payments by email and in the app, and by text when you have text alerts turned on, using the contact details on your DrifterIQ account. Keep them current.
Law and disagreements.
- Arizona law governs these terms.
- Talk to us first. Write to contact@drifteriq.com and say what happened and what you want. We both try to settle it within 30 days.
- If we cannot settle it, the disagreement is decided by one neutral arbitrator, not by a court or a jury, under the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Arbitration Rules, in Maricopa County, Arizona, or by video. The decision is final. The Federal Arbitration Act applies to this agreement to arbitrate.
- One at a time. Each of us brings a claim only for ourselves, never as part of a class or group.
- Small matters stay simple. Either of us may use the small claims or justice court in Maricopa County for a claim within that court’s limits, and we may use those courts to recover an amount you owe under section 8.
- If part of this agreement to arbitrate cannot be enforced for a claim, that claim goes to the state or federal courts in Maricopa County, Arizona, and we both give up a jury trial as far as the law allows.
The rest. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right once, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms to someone else without our written consent. We may transfer them with our business.
